Didn't finish the 4 year study and worked full time since then in mostly retail. Worked in a surf shop for 8 years and family had a clothing and haberdashery store. That's why was interested in the SBRM study. Opened my own skate shop when I was 27 and closed down 2 years ago due to differences in partnership. Now full time artist, photographer, designer, cultural entrepreneur and part time in Cosecha Aruba.(Aruba's first art/craft gallery store)
Growing up in Aruba, behind the white sandy beaches, picturesque palm trees and hotel lined streets, is an island consumed with hidden gems. Through my pictures I have created the untold story of the history in Aruba. On the island I am better known as Cado De Lannoy. I picked up my first camera and started to seriously shoot at the age of 15. I became the guy behind the lens, documenting life of my friends and family.
Having always been inspired by Aruban subculture I love to show a different perspective. My photography consists of a mixture between selective coloring and black and white photos. Besides c print, I have created various collections using different textiles such as canvas, pvc and wood.
Most recently, I completed courses in New York to further my knowledge in photography as well as the “art and business” aspect of this field. My ultimate goal is to take the next step and be recognized as an international artist.
All of my pieces have been purchased by local collectors, restaurants, collective office spaces and events
